Our basic VAT checking service is provided free of charge for informational purposes only. You may use this service to verify UK VAT registration status for legitimate business purposes. It validates UK VAT numbers and displays related public-record information from HMRC and Companies House.
3. User obligations
You agree to:
- Use the service only for lawful purposes.
- Not interfere with normal operation or security of the site.
- Not exceed the Companies House API rate limit of 600 requests in any five-minute window.
- Not programmatically query vatchecker.co.uk in a manner that would cause us to exceed API rate limits.
4. Intellectual property & licence
All original content on vatchecker.co.uk is © Pricing Logic Limited. Public-sector data is licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL); you must retain that attribution if you reuse it. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
5. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the service.
Data accuracy: Information displayed via Companies House and HMRC APIs is provided "as is". Companies House does not verify the accuracy of the information filed, and HMRC provides no warranty of correctness.
No endorsement: Use of HMRC APIs does not imply any endorsement by HMRC. Vatchecker.co.uk must not be described as "HMRC approved", "accredited" or similar.
6. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these Terms.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access immediately if you breach these Terms or our API providers revoke access.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
